First Girl Scout troop in So. Nevada
formed in Boulder City. Twenty-two girls joined initially;
membership doubled in four months.

Boulder City Council formed by the regional
director from Salt Lake City, Utah. Shirley Berger
was commissioner. The five lone troops then functioning,
became the first troops to come under the official
sponsorship of an official council; 114 girls registered.

Henderson Council formed.

Las Vegas Council formed.
|

1945

Myra Dodge first paid Executive Director;
Roberta Hudlow- Assistant Executive Director.

First Las Vegas training course offered

Articles of incorporation were drawn
up to form Frontier Area Girl Scout Council which served
the Clark County area.

First adult Girl Scout conference held

Annual reports show 2500 girls and adults
registered in the council.
Camp Foxtail went into operation.

Headquarters moved to Las Vegas.
Nye, Esmeralda and Lincoln counties in
Nevada, and Needles, California added to council jurisdiction.

Dedication of Girl Scout service center
located at 2530 Stewart Avenue.

Land patent issued for 30 acres in Calico
Basin.

1970

Frontier Girl Scout Council served approximately
6,000 girls and 1,000 adults- emphasis on extending
membership to all girls.
Senior Girl Scouts served on the Board
of Directors for the first time.

Mazie Jones administration building was
dedicated at Camp Foxtail.

Calico Basin dedicated and time capsule

White Pine County added to council jurisdiction-

Gerson Community.
