Girl Scout Cookie Program Activities
New Girl Scout Daisy Materials
Starting in fall 2008, Girl Scout Daisies have the opportunity
to take part in the Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity. A
new story, "Smart Cookies in the Daisy Flower Garden," and
a set of related activities introduces the girls to this
beloved Girl Scout tradition. The story features many of
the colorful characters of the first Daisy leadership journey, Welcome
to the Daisy Flower Garden.
A guide for adults is also available for download to help
volunteers plan activities and meetings for this first year
of cookie-selling. Completion of these activities will earn
Daisies the Girl Scout Cookie Activity Pin.
The 2008-2009 Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity also comes
in two additional multi-grade levels: Girl Scout Brownies
and Juniors, and Girl Scout Cadettes through Ambassadors.
This year's Cookie Activity theme, Focus on Philanthropy,
emphasizes how girls can make the world a better place by
giving of their time and/or money earned through product
sales.

The Role of Adults
Adults act as coaches who help girls develop leadership
skills by using these processes:
- Girl-Led – Girls
play an active part in figuring out the what, where, when,
how, and why of their activities. They lead the planning
and decision-making as much as possible.
- Learning by Doing – Girls
engage in continuous cycles of action and reflection
that result in deeper understanding of concepts and mastery
of practical skills.
- Cooperative Learning – Girls
work together toward shared goals in an atmosphere of
respect and collaboration that encourages the sharing
of skills, knowledge and learning.
For more information, read the revised Safety-Wise guidelines,
adult guides and cookie materials provided by your council
and vendor. Attend cookie training at the council, service
unit or troop level, whether you are an adult working with
girls or an adult volunteering to help the Girl Scout in
your family meet her goals.
Please note: The
Cookie Activity Pin can be ordered through Girl Scout
Merchandise using UPC #09030. To wear it, see Where
to Place Insignia on a Uniform.

She Wears
a "G" for Generosity
This year's Cookie Activity has a special song
to sing along as you work:
She Wears a "G" for Generosity
She wears a "G" for Generosity
She wears an "I" for interest, too
She wears an "R" for real-life sportsmanship
She wears an "L" for loyalty
She wears an "S" for her sincerity
She wears a "C" for courtesy
She wears an "O-U-T" for outdoor life, outdoor life
And that Girl Scout is me!
Listen
and sing along! ( Large File: MP3 1.88MB)
This song was recorded by Melinda Carol and Girl Scouts.
