Facilities
Girl Scouts of Frontier Council operates a wide variety
of Girl Scout facilities. The operation of Girl Scout sites
and facilities is conducted under the safety and management
guidelines of GSUSA as outlined in Safety Management of Girl
Scout Sites and Facilities. These guidelines provide
the conditions for protecting and maintaining the health,
safety, and security of girls and volunteers who are taking
part in activities at these sites.
Improvements
and maintenance of these facilities is funded by the council
operational and capital budgets. There is a volunteer
committee that is tasked with reviewing all council sites
and making recommendations for on-going maintenance, as well
as long-range development of the sites.
Funding for projects identified in the long range development
plan comes from budget allocations, grants, community donations,
in-kind services, Girl Scout Silver & Gold Award projects
and Boy Scout Eagle projects. In addition to capital investments,
there is on-going maintenance on all council properties that
includes landscaping, regular service to HVAC units, plumbing
repairs, exterminating services, and other miscellaneous
repairs.
