Service Center

General Information

Use of the Donald W. Reynolds Girl Scout Training and Service Center can be requested by certain Girl Scout user groups within the council: Council Board Committees, Operating Units and Service units following the procedures outlined in the “Girl Scout User” information section of this brochure.

Non-Profit (501C-3 status) Outside User Groups meeting specific criteria can request use of the facility following the procedures outlined in the “Outside User” information section of this brochure.

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada reserves the right to review the purpose of site use to determine the association of user groups.  The council additionally reserves the right to refuse a reservation request if the purpose of use is not compatible with the mission of the council.

Facility Information

The areas available for reserving include:

  • Training Rooms 1 & 2 - The two training rooms can be reserved individually, separated by a built-in divider wall, or together for larger venues with a maximum capacity of 113 occupants.  Tables and chairs are available for use in these areas.
  • Kitchen - Adjacent to training room 1, the kitchen is equipped with a commercial sized refrigerator and freezer.  Also available for use is a standard, gas stove with oven and a microwave oven.
  • Volunteer Conference Room - The Harrah’s Entertainment Volunteer Conference Room is a small room containing a conference table that seats seven, for a more intimate meeting.
  • Outdoor Ceremonial Courtyard - A beautiful courtyard complete with a bridge for each level of Girl Scouting.  The courtyard is an excellent venue for a council or service unit bridging ceremony.  Also in the courtyard area is a fire pit surrounded by a rock fireside/hearth, and in the northwest corner, an amphitheater area perfect for those special council or service unit productions.

Reservations

Girl Scout User Information

Girl Scout user groups eligible to request use of the facility are as follows:

  • Council Board Committees & Council Operating Units -  Reservation requests can be made by the council staff member of the committee or operating unit who will be the adult-in-charge for use of the site.                             *Reservation requests will not be accepted more than FOUR months prior to use date.


  • Council Service Units - Reservation requests can be made by the Service Team Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator or Membership Specialist for the Service Unit who will be the adult-in-charge for use of the site.  *Reservation Requests will not be accepted more than THREE months prior to use date.

Fees are not charged to Girl Scout user groups; however, in the event damage is sustained or an area is not satisfactorily cleaned after use, the responsible group will be billed for any financial costs incurred.  Additionally, the group may jeopardize future reservation request consideration.

When submitting a reservation request form, please indicate the time frame for the requested date beginning no earlier than 7:00 am and ending no later than 10:00 pm.

Upon receipt of a reservation request, you will be notified whether your request has been approved and receive a copy of your reservation request form.  Instructions on contacting the council to make arrangements for access to the facility and procedures for site use will be included with the confirmation.

Outside User Information

Non-profit (501C-3 status) groups can request use of the facility providing a member of their group is a council staff member.  The reservation must be made in coordination with the council staff representative who is to be present for the duration of the event and responsible for the group access to the site and securing the facility. 

*Reservation requests will not be accepted more than TWO months prior to use date.

Outside user groups will be charged for use of the facility.  Please include payment with site reservation request according to the following fee information:

  • Training Room #1       $50 per hour*
  • Training Room #2       $50 per hour*
  • Conference Room       $15 per hour
  • Kitchen Use               $25
*minimum fee $100

Insurance:

All outside user groups are required to provide a certificate of liability insurance for a minimum of two million dollars.  Insurance certificates must name Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada as additionally insured, and be received at the council office no later than one week prior to use date or reservation will be cancelled and fees forfeited.

Restrictions

Alcoholic beverages are not allowed where girls and/or youth are the focus of the event.  A written request for permission to serve alcohol at an event where girls and/or youth are not present must be submitted with the Facility Reservation Request form for approval.  Details of the event, including the purpose and those participating should be included with the request.

The Donald W. Reynolds Girl Scout Training and Service Center is a NON-SMOKING facility.  Smoking is strictly prohibited in the facility.  Areas designated permissible for smoking will be included with the instructions on using the facility provided to the user group, prior to site use.

Insurance

All user groups must be properly insured for any event.  Girl Scout groups must purchase additional insurance when required, i.e. tag-a-longs.  Outside user groups must provide a certificate of liability insurance which must be received no later than one week prior to use date (see Outside User Information for further details regarding insurance).
