Who Pays For Girl Scouting?
Girl
Scouting is open to all girls, regardless of their ability
to pay. While it currently costs approximately $210 to serve
each girl member per year, Girl Scouts of Frontier Council
makes every effort to keep costs low and reasonable for families
and individuals enrolled in the program. When necessary,
Girl Scouts of Frontier Council provides financial assistance
to registered girl/adult members.
Annual Membership Dues
The $10.00 annual membership dues (October 1-September
30) are paid to Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. in New York, through
the local council office, and are non-transferable and not
refundable. GSUSA uses membership dues for: accident insurance,
quarterly Leader magazine for registered adults; development
of Girl Scout programs, handbooks and materials; training
courses/conferences; equipment catalogs; and audiovisual
materials.
The girl* pays for...
Her own uniform (optional), handbooks, personal equipment,
insignia, special troop/group activities, basic camp costs,
annual membership dues, and troop dues*. By taking these
funds from her personal resources, a girl learns self-reliance.
Girls and parents in each troop/group determine the amount
of dues based on planned activities and the ability to pay.
Troop dues are optional.
*No girl will be denied
the opportunity for a Girl Scout experience because of
financial hardship. Financial assistance is available.

support.

not tax deductible. Consult your personal tax advisor.
Girl Scouts of Frontier Council pays for...
Training and development courses for volunteers, trained
professional administration and staff support, facilities
