Girl Scout Bronze Award

It is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout (girls in grades 3-6 or are ages 8-11) may earn. The Girl Scout Bronze Award recognizes your efforts in a wide range of Girl Scout experiences and shows that you understand and live by the Girl Scout Promise and Law. It shows you have made a promise to help others, improve your community and world, and become the best you can be.

The Girl Scout Bronze Award has 4 steps: (girls should work closely with their leaders/ advisors)

•Earn 2 badges that are related to the project you will do for your  Bronze Award. bronzeaward
•Complete one of the Girl Scout Signs; which are based on the four Girl Scout program goals for girls.
•Earn the Junior Aide Patch OR two of the following badges: "Girl Scouting in the USA", "Girl Scouting Around the World", "Girl Scouting in My Future", and "Lead On".
•Bronze Award Project which shows that you understand and live by the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

The first three requirements may be completed in any order, but MUST be completed before you work on the final project. You may not use one activity to apply to more than one requirement. Requirements begun prior to being a registered Junior Girl Scout MAY NOT be applied to this award.

The project should take approximately 15 hours to complete, including planning time. The project itself should take at least 7-8 hours. Your project should include community service, and can be done inside or outside of Girl Scouting.

The new Junior Handbook and Leader Guide provide additional material and a sample ceremony.
