Frontier Silver Award

The Frontier Silver Award recognizes an individual who has been a registered member of the Girl Scout movement for at least 25 years, with a minimum of 5 years in Frontier Council. The nominee must have performed an outstanding job, beyond the expectations of the position held and must have contributed directly to helping the council move toward its operating objectives and goals. An individual receives this award only once. This year we are pleased to recognize:

JANET NOLD

Janet began her journey as a girl member in the 1950’s. She came back to the Girl Scouts in the 1970’s when her oldest daughter became a Brownie Girl Scout, taking the position of leader with the Suncoast Girl Scout Council in Tampa, Florida. In 1974 her husband was transferred to Nellis Air Force Base and Jan once again became a Girl Scout leader with Frontier Council. Eventually she was a leader for both of her daughters following them through Senior Girl Scouts. Time passed and in the early 1990’s, Jan’s granddaughter became a Daisy Girl Scout and Jan became the leader of yet another generation of girls. Jan kept all of her girls through their years as Senior Girl Scouts and two years ago, she watched her granddaughter bridge to an Adult Girl Scout member. Jan has always taken great pride in her girls and their great accomplishments through Girl Scouting. Congratulations to Jan who is receiving the Frontier Silver Award, the highest membership award for our council.
