Each year volunteers provide outstanding
service in support of the girls in Frontier Council. The
Annual Awards Luncheon, held in April, allows these adults
to be recognized for their contributions. To nominate an
adult you feel is deserving of these honors, request the
Adult Awards packet from the service center, contact your membership
staff, or download the appropriate form from the adult
awards chart.
Girl Scouts of Frontier Council believes the
adult recognition program should reflect the following:
Quality
of service above and beyond the expectation of the position
held is the primary determining factor in awarding recognition.
Many
kinds of contributions should be considered: time and talent,
in addition to donation of money and resources.
Quality
is not judged by the length of service or number of
other recognitions; it is ultimately a function of impact,
direct or indirect, on girls.
Recognitions
are given to reinforce high expectations and encourage
a continual improvement. It is not a competition.
Recognitions create a strategic advantage because they
identify who to model in the future. The recipient's
performance is part of what moves a council toward it's
goals.
Publicly
honoring adults underscores Girl Scouting vitality
in the community. It encourages greater involvement
and support from other adults and organizations- all
with the goal of helping girls become happy and resourceful
citizens.
