Adult Education Course Descriptions

Adult Education courses offered at GSFC are reviewed regularly to ensure that the most relevant information is delivered in a concise and meaningful way. Flexible delivery methods are utilized as they become available. Your time is valued and we thank you for taking the time to complete required and specialty training.

Arriving on time and staying until the end of the course will ensure you receive credit. Turning your cell phone off or to "vibrate", as well as leaving the training area to answer a call will keep the class moving on schedule for the volunteer instructor and participants.

"Orientation", "Jump Start to Leadership", and "So, You're Gonna Be a Leader" are required of all volunteer troop/group leaders, and provide information on the Girl Scout program as well as the policy and procedures within the council. Once those courses have been completed, adults can begin to meet with girls. Adults complete their required basic leadership by attending "Nitty Gritty/ Program Age Level", and "First Aid/CPR" (please see Safety-Wise for additional information). For safety reasons, it is recommended that the first aider be an adult other than the adult who has completed all the training required for any given event.
