Online Classes

Welcome to Frontier Councils online learning! We make it easy for you to take courses that are convenient for you. Our online learning is interactive to provide you with a “learning by doing” experience.

Experts state that online learning can create a 50% time saving and a 40-60% cost saving compared to regular classroom training. The biggest advantage is neither the cost nor the speed, but rather the student's convenience in effectively learning when they can afford the time, wherever they are.

You do not have to take Moving Away from Your Meeting Place or Simple Overnight if your training is current. These classes are replacing the once offered Day Tripper and Troop Traveler.

In order to launch this online course, you must have Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. You may download it free by clicking the image to the right.

New Online Volunteer Orientation

The new online Volunteer Orientation (both English- and Spanish-language versions) will be the first close-up view of the Girl Scout organization for all new volunteers. It is designed to introduce new volunteers to Girl Scouting and the many rewarding opportunities that Girl Scouting offers girls and adults.

The new online orientation integrates new volunteers into the council environment and its ways of work and, because the basic program content of the orientation is standardized, the messages shared throughout the council and nationally will be consistent.

Components of the New Orientation include:

  • Introduction and Welcome: Provide instructions on how to navigate the orientation

  • About Girl Scouts: Presents the Girl Scout Mission, Promise and Law, history, and membership requirements

  • Girl Scout Pathways: Illustrates various ways that girl and adult members participate

  • Support for Volunteers: Describes resources and support available to volunteers

  • Program: Presents the three keys to leadership: discover - connect - take action, and their outcomes, and the three processes: girl-led, learning by doing, cooperative learning

  • Learning Log and Conclusion: Provide places for new volunteers to answer questions and be thanked!
