Community
sponsors help the Girl Scout
Council ensure that all girls
in the community have an
opportunity to participate
in Girl Scouting. Community
organizations, businesses,
or individuals can be sponsors
and may provide group meetings
places, volunteer time, activity
materials, equipment, or
financial support for Girl
Scout groups. Girl Scouts
of Frontier Council endorses
group sponsorship as a desirable
practice for financial support
for group activities. Girl
Scout groups and individuals
must have permission from
an authorized council representative
before soliciting organizations,
businesses, corporations,
foundations, or individuals
for financial or in-kind
assistance. Groups are required
to complete a Sponsorship
Application TP-15 and submit
to the council office for
approval.
If
a Girl Scout group has a
sponsor, the sponsor’s
contribution can be recognized
by sending thank you cards
composed by the girls, inviting
the sponsor to a meeting
or court of awards, or working
together on a service project.
When a group receives financial
or in-kind support from a
community sponsor and completes
the Sponsorship Application
Report Form, the community
sponsor will receive a special
acknowledgement of the support
directly from the organization.
