Volunteer Opportunities

Make a Difference!   Make an Impact!

Learning to WeaveGAIN FRIENDS, GAIN RECOGNITION, GAIN SATISFACTION, GAIN TRAINING

Have YOU thought about becoming a Girl Scout leader or volunteer? Maybe it’s those fond memories of camping, making hot s’mores and singing songs that draw you in. Maybe you have a desire to teach young girls the things you wish someone had taught you way back when. Then again, you could simply love meeting new people and having a great time. Whatever your reasons, we are excited that you want to be involved in today’s Girl Scouts.

As a Girl Scout volunteer, you’ll provide a truly meaningful contribution to the development of girls and young women in your community. You’ll provide the support, supervision and encouragement that all girls need during their developmental years.

Making a difference in a girl's life is as simple as giving a horseback riding lesson to a troop of girls, helping girls plant some trees, or mentoring a girl on your career path. Volunteering every week, once a month, or even a few times a year, is an easy way to helpthese girls grow strong.  Complete the volunteer interest form or contact with a Membership Specialist and further discuss your volunteer ideas and interests.

Girl Scouting is a volunteer based organization with many opportunities for both women and men, with varying time commitments to accommodate even the busiest schedules. These positions range from support of one-time program events to long-term, on-going roles. Volunteers can work with girls or adults, in the day to day operations or in a governance position. Whatever your interests, Girl Scouts of Frontier Council has an opportunity for you!

Girl Scout volunteers:

  • have a chance to meet new people
  • use their time meaningfully
  • share their talents and skills
  • learn new ones
  • choose the amount of time they contribute
  • bring special talents and expertise that enrich the Girl Scout program for girls.

Every attempt will be made to place volunteers in positions that meet their needs, as well as that of the council. Volunteers are selected on the basis of qualifications for membership, ability to perform the volunteer position, and the willingness and availability to participate in the required training for that position. All volunteers participating in the Girl Scout movement shall meet GSUSA standards, complete the reference check and appointment process, be registered as members through the local council, and agree to abide by the policies and principles of GSUSA and Girl Scouts of Frontier Council. Contact the Service Center for further information or to receive an application to work with girls or an application to work with adults.
