Family Events 
Camp Chit ChatCome join us for a fun information night, meet some of the Foxtail Camp Staff and Camp Director, and make a fun camp craft. All girls and their parents/guardians are invited. Extreme Spring Clean-up at Camp FoxtailVolunteer Help Needed: Camp Foxtail is in need of volunteers with skills! If you are a plumber, electrician, carpenter, or an individual with a labor skill please consider donating your time to help get Camp Foxtail ready for the summer programs. There are also many other projects we need to complete that don’t require specific skills, such as planting flowers, washing windows, organizing supplies, collecting wood and more. Open HouseThis is an opportunity for campers and their families to visit and explore the Camp Foxtail property and meet the summer camp staff! Ride on the bus from the Girl Scout Service Center or drive up on your own. Lunch will be provided for registered participants, along with carnival games, pony rides and many more activities. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a light jacket. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Adult supervision is required for all youth participants! Limited seating bus transportation is available at specific hours on a first come, first served basis. Please use the Special Camp Events registration form or call 385-3677 ext. 243 to register. CANCELLED- Overnight Family Camping - Session #900Does your family like to go camping? Here’s your chance to experience the wonderful fun of Camp Foxtail, family style. Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch meals will be provided. Each family unit will be assigned cabins to sleep in and share community bathrooms. The entire family gets to enjoy all the activities that are planned at camp including bike riding, hiking games, camp fires and songs, archery and much more. We provide the staff for all program activities. Each family will be responsible for the supervision and safety of their children, their transportation to camp, and their own bedding and personal items for each camper. All activities are planned and done family style. REGISTRATION REQUIRED! No children under the age of 5 are permitted! Register using the Special Camp Events registration form. Core
Camp
Brownie & Junior Troop Core Camping!Core Camping is designed as a first or beginners camping experience for troops! All troop participants will be assigned to a sleeping cabin for the session; be advised that some troops may be split between cabins depending on size of groups registered. Each troop can choose 5 program activities to participate in at the time of registration; a schedule will be provided on the first morning of the session. Each troop will participate in the kapers of camp: flag ceremony, grounds, hopping, etc. All program activities will be facilitated by summer camp staff. Troop Leader’s will participate and supervise all program activities scheduled. All meals are provided and cooked for each troop, except the Saturday dinner. Each troop will plan, cook, and cleanup their own Saturday dinner. Cost of this session includes all meals, program supplies and a patch. For this session, full payment must accompany the Core Camp registration form. Adult participants are limited to Safety-Wise ratios. Each registered Troop must be accompanied by a camp trained adult and must submit a TP-16 to their Membership Specialist for approval at least 4 weeks in advance of their session. Register to attend by using the Core Camp registration form; you will be required to list all girls and adults who will be attending. Special Camp Session for Product Sales Super Sellers!

Have you ever wondered where the ideas for the cookie program comes from? What could you do to increase your cookie sales? You will have the chance to give your input for next year’s cookie sale. You will also get to do all the fun stuff that Camp Foxtail has to offer from star gazing to archery and camp fires, s’mores and much more. To be eligible to participate in this session you must have sold more than 500 boxes of cookies during the 2010 cookie sale. Space in these special sessions are limited. Product Sales Camp is for girls entering grades 2-12 who have sold more than 500 boxes of cookies. To register, fill out the Resident

Girls Entering Grades K-1
Daisy Camp Day- Session #100-FULLDaisy Day Camp is a one day session for girls entering grades K-1 who want to experience some of the great things that Camp Foxtail has to offer in a first time camp experience! Girls will sing songs, make camp crafts and meet new friends, and be home with their family in time for dinner. For this session, full payment must accompany the registration form. A confirmation letter will be mailed with further information. Lunch, snacks and transportation will be provided. This is a girl only session, all adult supervision is provided by camp staff. Got Game- Session #201Can’t get enough of sports? Do you love to play games? Then come join us for this fun camp session. Foxtail Eco - Explorers Session #501Come smell the ice cream trees, watch the chipmunk highway, hike to Pooh Land and listen to the Aspen trees whisper their secrets. Discover the hidden secrets of Camp Foxtail. Learn how close the forest is to the faucet in your home. Learn to be a proactive part of your world as you discover eco-friendly habits, create arts from recycled and natural materials. Discover the real meaning of reduce, re-use, and recycle. Princess & Fairies- Session #601Enter our world of enchantment in a forest not so far away, a magical forest surrounding Camp Foxtail. Do you think you’ll see a fairy as you explore? You can use your imagination to be a princess while you make a tiara and a magic wand. Discover the magic of friendship as you explore making fairy houses and developing fairy tales. Create your own stationary, decorate your own soaps and make your own yummy dainty chocolates. Learn how to set a table and use your manners at an elegant tea party with your camp friends. I Spy- Session #701Do you like secret codes, treasure hunts and top secret missions? Help solve mystery of the “Missing Horse Shoe” and other top secret spy assignments. You and your friends will be undercover spies looking for clues and locating the evidence that will help you solve mysteries that await you at Camp Foxtail.

Night Owls- Session #801Can’t wait for the sun to go down? Do you like to stay up late and explore in the dark? This is a night-time camp session for Night Owls only! Discover the nightly visitors from the forest as they move around in the dark. Learn about your world as everyone else is sleeping. Play games and make your own glow in the dark art. Scrumptious Science- Session #911Ever thought you could eat your science project? In this session you will discover that science can be delicious! Have fun making root beer soda, bubble gum, rock candy, astronaut ice cream, and gummy worms. Science can be so much fun! |
Girls Entering Grades 4-5
Art AttackWould you love to be an artist and make your own creations? See how many art projects you can complete in a week. Learn how to make origami, mold clay into pieces of art, create your own jewelry to wear, learn to work with leather and carve wood.

On TargetLearn basic archery skills, and then test yourself through games and other challenges at camp. Visit the archery range and work on developing your skills to hit the bulls eye. Challenge yourself to earn the “Broken Arrow Award”. Dream of hitting the target as you spend one night at the range with your new archery friends. Cost: Members - $250.00

Friends & Fun- Session #302This session is designed for first time campers. You’ll experience all that camp has to offer from learning about archery to making s’mores. You’ll also enjoy hiking, campfires, songs, camp games, making new friends, turtle time, what hopping is and much more. |
DIY Jeweler- Session #402 CANCELLEDDo you like a little bling, glitter and shine? Here’s a chance for you to learn the art of creating your own jewelry! Design a necklace, earring and bracelet set using a variety of different beads, jewels, and wire materials. CheertasticGimme a C...A...M...P! What does that spell? CAMP! This session offers basic instruction and training to develop cheerleading skills. Learn various cheers, chants and dances: make a spirit stick, and your own pom-poms to celebrate your Camp Foxtail cheerleading experience. Members - $260.00

Get Your Groove On- Session #702Five, six, seven, eight! Hang out with your friends and learn new dance steps like hip hop, modern, jazz and hula dancing. Girls Entering Grades 6-8
Extreme Adventure- Session #413 CANCELLEDAre you a more adventurous camper? How does hiking, biking, high rope course and rock climbing sound? This session includes a hike to the top of Sponge Creek at camp, a trip to the Clark County high ropes course and an overnight outside of camp! Date: July 4-9, 2010 |
Bit, Bridle and PonytailsDo you love horses? Develop your riding skills as you learn about these magnificent animals and how to take care of them. Groom, saddle, halter, and feed the horses and then ride on the mountain trails. You will travel from Camp Foxtail every day to the Kyle Canyon side of Mt. Charleston to ride. The Las Vegas Carriage Company will provide the lessons. Beginners welcome. Minimum: 10 girls each session

What’s Cookin'?- Session #513Do you love to cook in the outdoors? In this session, you will learn new and different ways of cooking with a dutch oven, solar oven or bucket cooking. Each day you will cook a delicious meal over an open flame. Date: July 11-16, 2010 |

Mountain Riders- Session #423 CANCELLEDBring your mountain bike, helmet, and energy to Camp Foxtail’s terrain! If you don’t have a bike to bring, one will be provided for you! BullseyeNock, draw, anchor, aim, shoot! This is an advanced session of archery. Enjoy playing target games like tic tac toe, Little Johns Archery and Eagle Eye. If archery is your game, then this week is for you. You will have a chance to challenge yourself to earn the “Broken Arrow Award” if you hit a Bullseye on your first try. Cost: Members - $250.00

Camp Foxtail “Survivor Challenge”- Session #404 CANCELLEDCome enjoy the thrill of a challenge and the excitement of being part of a unique adventure. You will experience a week of fun activities with a twist. Guided by a series of clues, you will challenge your mind and body and work as a team on the adventure course, archery, team challenges and much more. Learn some survivor skills that you could use should you ever choose to sign up for “Survivor” the reality show.

Ultra High Extreme Adventure- Session #504Ever imagined what it’d be like to soar from the top of a mountain with an eagle’s view? Have you ever experienced the fun and freedom of land-sailing as you blast across miles of smooth, wide open space? This session is for girls who really love adventure! You will zip down a zipline in Bootleg Canyon, and go land-sailing on Ivanpath Dry Lake. Both adventures are eco-friendly, leaving no trace of your adventure. Utah Canyons Adventure- Session #604You will travel to Utah and stay at Price College campus. Then travel on to the Utah‘s Green River and raft through the beautiful Gray Canyon. This trip is not like a cruise or an adventure park experience. You should be comfortable with and have some experience with the river water rafting and the outdoors. Visit a prehistoric Museum, play in a desert wave pool, go rock climbing, repelling, camp in San Rafael Swell and hike in the world famous slot canyon, Little Wild Horse area. This session is for girls who love adventure. Participants should be in good shape as they will be engaged in physical activity daily while enjoying the adventure of a lifetime. All transportation, meals and lodging included along with camping and hiking gear. Date: July 18-23, 2010 |
Shakespeare in the Woods- Session #704Back by popular demand, the full immersion of the Shakespeare’s experience! This year’s Utah Shakespearean Festival presents: The Merchant of Venice, Great Expectations, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing and 39 Steps. You will enjoy these plays and a backstage tour. In addition to your stay at Camp Foxtail, you will stay in university dorm rooms. You will also have the opportunity to sight see and picnic at the scenic Cedar Breaks National Monument, often called “Circle of Painted Cliffs”. You will return in time to participate in closing campfire at Camp Foxtail. All transportation, meals and lodging, theatre tickets, are included in fees. |
Under Construction- Session #914Would you like to explore how to build things? Want to work with power tools? If you’ve ever wondered if you might want a career in construction or architecture then this session is for you! Have fun learning how to plan and implement creative construction projects from design to finish! Learn about the tools of the trade from professionals! Participants will be able to leave a legacy by creating a project that will last at camp! GRADE 9TH –12TH Date: August 15-20, 2010 |
Geo-Caching- Session #804Do you love a treasure hunt? In this session, participants will learn how to use GPS equipment to help find buried treasures in the Mt. Charleston area as part of this geocaching adventure! Girls will work in teams to locate hidden objects and leave new items for others to find, participate in challenge games and more. All equipment is provided!

Leadership Opportunities
Camp Program AideDo you think you would like to be a camp counselor someday? This program is for girls who would like to improve their leadership skills and enjoy working with younger girls in a camp setting. Learn about camp crafts, games, songs, archery and the basics of leading a group of girls. But you can still be a camper and enjoy all the daily camp activities. Spend your time improving your camping skills and assisting in units of younger girls. You will be working on the completion of “Program Aide Specialization” skills. Cost: Member - $225.00

Counselor in TrainingAre you interested in developing your leadership skills? Would you like to be part of the staff team at Camp Foxtail in the future? Do you have an interest in a career in the outdoors and working with youth? The Camp Program Aide, CIT I, CIT II, and Internship sessions offer an opportunity to learn and practice skills needed to become a camp counselor. These sessions are designed to help you learn about effective leadership. |

CIT I - Session #215In CIT I, you will observe units of all age levels, and help with program activities. Discover what being a camp counselor is all about! Identify your talents, understand your leadership style, polish your program skills and experience the challenges and rewards of working with younger girls in an outdoor setting. You will create a notebook that will include written assignments and ideas for instructions for program activities. |
CIT II - Session #315In CIT II, you choose a specialty area and work intensely to learn the job. You will expand your CIT I notebook with more program ideas and information about managing and working with campers. More time will be spent working with campers and you will be implementing assigned activities.

entering grades 11-12 |
Internship- Session #105All selected interns must attend pre-camp training. Upon completion, you may sign up for the week or weeks of your choice to do your internship. You will be assigned to work with other staff members. Your time will be used to practice leadership and counseling skills before becoming a staff member. Upon completion of training you will work directly with campers, continue to develop your counseling skills, and get experience in supervision, group management, and program planning.
