Extreme Spring Clean-up at Camp FoxtailVolunteer Help Needed: Camp Foxtail is in need of volunteers with skills! If you are a plumber, electrician, carpenter, or an individual with a labor skill please consider donating your time to help get Camp Foxtail ready for the summer programs. There are also many other projects we need to complete that don’t require specific skills, such as planting flowers, washing windows, organizing supplies, collecting wood and more. Open HouseThis is an opportunity for campers and their families to visit and explore the Camp Foxtail property and meet the summer camp staff! Ride on the bus from the Girl Scout Service Center or drive up on your own. Lunch will be provided for registered participants, along with carnival games, pony rides and many more activities. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a light jacket. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Adult supervision is required for all youth participants! CANCELLED- Overnight Family Camping - Session #900Does your family like to go camping? Here’s your chance to experience the wonderful fun of Camp Foxtail, family style. Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch meals will be provided. Each family unit will be assigned cabins to sleep in and share community bathrooms. The entire family gets to enjoy all the activities that are planned at camp including bike riding, hiking games, camp fires and songs, archery and much more. We provide the staff for all program activities. Each family will be responsible for the supervision and safety of their children, their transportation to camp, and their own bedding and personal items for each camper. All activities are planned and done family style. REGISTRATION REQUIRED! No children under the age of 5 are permitted! Register using the Special Camp Events registration form. Brownie & Junior Troop Core Camping!Core Camping is designed as a first or beginners camping experience for troops! All troop participants will be assigned to a sleeping cabin for the session; be advised that some troops may be split between cabins depending on size of groups registered. Each troop can choose 5 program activities to participate in at the time of registration; a schedule will be provided on the first morning of the session. Each troop will participate in the kapers of camp: flag ceremony, grounds, hopping, etc. All program activities will be facilitated by summer camp staff. Troop Leader’s will participate and supervise all program activities scheduled. All meals are provided and cooked for each troop, except the Saturday dinner. Each troop will plan, cook, and cleanup their own Saturday dinner. Cost of this session includes all meals, program supplies and a patch. For this session, full payment must accompany the Core Camp registration form. Adult participants are limited to Safety-Wise ratios. Each registered Troop must be accompanied by a camp trained adult and must submit a TP-16 to their Membership Specialist for approval at least 4 weeks in advance of their session. Register to attend by using the Core Camp registration form; you will be required to list all girls and adults who will be attending. Have you ever wondered where the ideas for the cookie program comes from? What could you do to increase your cookie sales? You will have the chance to give your input for next year’s cookie sale. You will also get to do all the fun stuff that Camp Foxtail has to offer from star gazing to archery and camp fires, s’mores and much more. To be eligible to participate in this session you must have sold more than 500 boxes of cookies during the 2010 cookie sale. Space in these special sessions are limited. Product Sales Camp is for girls entering grades 2-12 who have sold more than 500 boxes of cookies. To register, fill out the Resident

Daisy Camp Day- Session #100-FULLDaisy Day Camp is a one day session for girls entering grades K-1 who want to experience some of the great things that Camp Foxtail has to offer in a first time camp experience! Girls will sing songs, make camp crafts and meet new friends, and be home with their family in time for dinner. For this session, full payment must accompany the registration form. A confirmation letter will be mailed with further information. Lunch, snacks and transportation will be provided. This is a girl only session, all adult supervision is provided by camp staff. On TargetLearn basic archery skills, and then test yourself through games and other challenges at camp. Visit the archery range and work on developing your skills to hit the bulls eye. Bit, Bridle and PonytailsDo you love horses? Develop your riding skills as you learn about these magnificent animals and how to take care of them. Groom, saddle, halter, and feed the horses and then ride on the mountain trails. You will travel from Camp Foxtail every day to the Kyle Canyon side of Mt. Charleston to ride. The Las Vegas Carriage Company will provide the lessons. Beginners welcome. Minimum: 10 girls each session

Learn some survivor skills that you could use should you ever choose to sign up for “Survivor” the reality show.

Ultra High Extreme Adventure- Session #504Ever imagined what it’d be like to soar from the top of a mountain with an eagle’s view? Have you ever experienced the fun and freedom of land-sailing as you blast across miles of smooth, wide open space? This session is for girls who really love adventure! You will zip down a zipline in Bootleg Canyon, and go land-sailing on Ivanpath Dry Lake. Both adventures are eco-friendly, leaving no trace of your adventure. Utah Canyons Adventure- Session #604You will travel to Utah and stay at Price College campus. Then travel on to the Utah‘s Green River and raft through the beautiful Gray Canyon. This trip is not like a cruise or an adventure park experience. You should be comfortable with and have some experience with the river water rafting and the outdoors. Visit a prehistoric Museum, play in a desert wave pool, go rock climbing, repelling, camp in San Rafael Swell and hike in the world famous slot canyon, Little Wild Horse area. This session is for girls who love adventure. Participants should be in good shape as they will be engaged in physical activity daily while enjoying the adventure of a lifetime. All transportation, meals and lodging included along with camping and hiking gear. Date: July 18-23, 2010 |
Shakespeare in the Woods- Session #704Back by popular demand, the full immersion of the Shakespeare’s experience! This year’s Utah Shakespearean Festival presents: The Merchant of Venice, Great Expectations, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing and 39 Steps. You will enjoy these plays and a backstage tour. In addition to your stay at Camp Foxtail, you will stay in university dorm rooms. You will also have the opportunity to sight see and picnic at the scenic Cedar Breaks National Monument, often called “Circle of Painted Cliffs”. You will return in time to participate in closing campfire at Camp Foxtail. All transportation, meals and lodging, theatre tickets, are included in fees. |
