out when they see injustice.

future.
Benefits of an All Girl Environment
The Girl Scout program is designed specifically
for girls. Their needs and interests are the basis for
program development.
Activities are designed specifically
to help girls develop critical life skills.
Girls have a place where they are encouraged
to try new things and experiment with new ideas.
They are expected to be decision-makers
and leaders.
They can take risks and learn from their
mistakes in a supportive environment of their peers without
the social pressures to conform to stereotyped expectations.
Girls need examples of successful women as role models
Girls need to see adult women being successful- from female
CEO’s to women who get up at 4:30 a.m. to drive a bus.
The female role model is essential in carrying out the purpose
of Girl Scouting. Interaction with women in leadership positions
is of particular importance in the development of girls. All
Girl Scout adults bring special talents and expertise that
enrich Girl Scout program for girls. Your involvement is
only limited by your imagination.
If
you don’t, who will?
Girl Scouting is one of America’s greatest success
stories. Founded in 1912, more than 45 million adult women
have grown strong in the world’s preeminent organization
dedicated to serving girls and young women.
Two-thirds of this nation’s women of achievement – our doctors,
lawyers, engineers, educators, astronauts, political leaders – were Girl
Scouts when they were young.
But Girl Scouting’s success hinges on one very crucial factor – volunteers.
Girl Scouts would simply not be possible without them. Volunteers – who
make up 99% of Girl Scouting’s entire adult membership – are totally
responsible for the success of Girl Scouting. This has always been the case,
and it will always be so.
In the Girl Scouts, they discover the fun, friendship and power of girls
together; and through the many enriching experiences provided by the Girl Scouts,
they can grow courageous and strong. Make a difference for the Girls in
Your Community. Volunteer by completing the volunteer interest form, or calling
the Girl Scout Service Center.
