Event Registration
Council
wide events are planned and organized by the council with
volunteer assistance. Some events are age level specific
and others are open to all age levels. Troops/Groups and
Juliette's will be allowed to register on a first-come,
first-served basis, within the registration deadlines or
until the event is full. An event will be full and considered
closed to registrations when the maximum number of participants
has been met--which can occur before the closing registration
date. Please check event listing for participant numbers.
When
a council event is canceled due to insufficient numbers,
you will be notified and all fees will be refunded (check
event listing for minimum participant numbers). In the
event you wish to cancel your registration for an event
for which you already paid the program fees, you must submit
a NOTICE
OF CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION in
writing to the Program Department. Notice of cancellation
will be honored when the notice is received no less than
ten (10) business days prior to the event. A check processing
fee will be withheld ($2.50
MINIMUM/ $5.00 MAXIMUM) and all other monies paid will
be refunded in the form of a refund check. Allow ten business
days for a refund request to be processed. In case of bad
weather for any event, an alternate date will be scheduled.
Any troop/group or Juliette who cannot attend the alternate
date will be considered for a refund.
Adult
supervision is required for all council wide events. Troops/groups
must have a minimum of 2 supervising adults at all times,
one of whom must be a trained, appointed leader. Troop
Leaders must have appropriate training for overnight events
and outdoor events as required by council and national
policy standards. Adult supervision is REQUIRED for all
council events per Safety-wise guidelines
and ensure they have the adequate number of adults to supervise
the participants. Juliettes and non-member girls must be
accompanied by an adult when attending council wide events,
unless otherwise noted. All policies and procedures pertaining
to "overnight events" apply for council wide
overnight events. Each
troop/group is required to complete a Troop
Travel/ Overnight/ Special Activity (TP-16) application
for ANY council over night event. Additionally, each
troop/group must have registered adults with the proper
required training to attend overnight events. Check
your Volunteer
Resource Guide, Safety-Wise or
your Membership
Stafffor
a listing of required training for overnight activities.
There
are no tag-alongs (siblings, friends, etc.) allowed at
events. If you bring a tag-along to a council event,
you may be asked to leave. If you are supervising
a troop and there are no other adults to supervise, your
troop may be asked to leave. If
the tag-along is a registered member of Girl Scouts in
a different troop/group there is still NO insurance coverage
unless they are registered in an older age level troop/group
and are assisting the participating troop/group in a leadership
role. If you are not sure of the tag-along status
or have questions, contact the Girl Scout service center.
